Good questions.
When is GST due?
Usually on the 28th of the month after your period ends. There are two exceptions: a period ending in November is due on 15 January, and a period ending in March is due on 7 May.
Should I register if I turn over less than $60,000?
You can register by choice. It can make sense if you’re buying equipment or most of your customers are GST-registered businesses. We’ll talk it through with you.
Which filing frequency is best?
It depends on your turnover and cash flow. Two-monthly suits most small businesses. Six-monthly cuts paperwork if your turnover is under $500,000.
